History

The Signal Processing Laboratory (LPS) was founded by Prof. Normonds Alens with the goal of gathering several professors and researchers who worked in signal processing and systems theory. It is part of the Electronic Systems Engineering Department (PSI).

Currently the LPS is very active in research, development and extension and it is responsible for many graduate and undergraduate courses. Its members have been publishing extensively in main international and national journals and conferences.

The lab maintains a close link to several important companies and institutions, nation and worldwide, which often attracts international students.
