Goals

Our work is devoted to improving the theoretical understanding of estimation and adaptive filtering algorithms, and to using this new knowledge to develop better algorithms.

We seek new mathematical results that may be used to improve and simplify the design of complex signal processing algorithms and their application to practical problems.

Examples of applications: (line and acoustic) echo canceling, channel equalization in communications, active noise and vibration control, and system identification.

Examples of mathematical tools frequently used: linear algebra and matrix analysis, tensors, probability and theory of stochastic processes, transforms, and creativity.
