Research area: Speech and audio coding, including:
Quantization and classification, using vector quantization and density models such as Gaussian Mixture Models (GMMs);
Objective and subjective quality measures;
Complexity measures and complexity reduction.
Research area: Acoustic signal analysis, including:
Spectral modeling through autoregressive (AR), cepstral and related models;
Time-frequency representations through transforms and filterbanks;
Model order estimation and reduction.
Research area: Environmental and biometrical signal enhancement and source identification, including:
Dynamic spectral and cepstral modeling and adaptive filtering;
Clustering through Gaussian Mixture Models (GMMs);
Source placement and localization;
